Rollergirls Roll

The two teams of the Cincinnati Rollergirls skated to commanding wins at the Cincinnati Gardens on Saturday night over the visiting Grand Raggidy Rollergirls. In the opening bout, Cincinnati's ‘B' team, the Silent Lambs, routed the G-Rap Attack! 103-25. The 4th ranked Black Sheep, Cincinnati's all-star squad also rolled in their bout, whipping the 7th ranked Grand Raggidy All-Stars 147-27 in Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) action. The bout between the Black Sheep and Grand Raggidy All-Stars, featured two of the top seven teams in the Northeast Region on WTDA rankings. The top four teams in each of the four regions, advance to the WFTDA Regional Tournaments in October.

In the first bout, the Silent Lambs jumped out to a 11-0 lead and never looked back. The halftime score favored the Lambs by a 56-9 score. Leading the way for the Silent Lambs was Polly Rocket, who amassed 42 jam points. Points are only scored in roller derby by a jammer, who scores by passing the opposing teams skaters. Jungle Lacy tallied 25 jam points for the Lambs and Cherry Choke added 24 more. The Silent Lambs are now 3-2 on the season.

In the second bout, the Cincinnati Black Sheep trailed after the first two jams, 1-0. But the next four jams saw Cincinnati rally and take a 14-2 lead. That was as close as the Grand Raggidy All-Stars would get. The Black Sheep put the bout out of reach with a 49-0 run to finish the first half and led at halftime 84-7. The Black Sheep limited Grand Raggidy to points in just four jams in the first half. The domination continued in the second half, as Grand Raggidy scored in just six jams as the Black Sheep went on to the easy victory. Leading the way in scoring for the Black Sheep was Dr. McDerby with 43 jam points. Rookie skater K-Lethal chipped in with 35 points on the jam and veteran WFTDA all-star Sadistic Sadie added 32 jam points.
